[摘要] :
全人教育一直是天主教的教育機構想要達成的宗旨目標。那麼全人教育與天主教的宗教信仰有必然的關連嗎?有宗教信仰作基礎的全人教育觀點與沒有宗教信仰推動的全人教育理念差別在哪裡呢?強調全人教育的學校可能會有更大的發展嗎?
本文透過一所天主教大學過去的政策理念、所發展出特色以及其未來的考驗作為例子來分析並試圖得到具體的答案。作為一所天主教學校,文藻外語學院一直以來強調的教育政策即是以全人教育之理想培育具國際觀之語文專業人才。四十年來,文藻不僅在台灣創立卓越的教育名聲,更在無數畢業校友的心目中獲得深刻的認同與肯定。本文主要說明這些成就與當初創辦這所學校所秉持的宗教信念有密切關係,也是當初的宗教信念使得文藻後來發展出一些特殊的校園文化。而這樣的信念面對今日劇烈變化的教育環境,雖然有很多的考驗需要克服,但這樣的願景仍是未來必須努力保存並賦予新作法的學校核心價值,這是本文研究的重點所在。

[英文摘要] :
Wholistic education, has been traditionally the final goal of Catholic educational institutes. Has wholistic education established a deep relationship with the Catholic faith? What is the difference between the wholistic education generated by religious belief and those dose not? Is there any greater chance for the development of education academy with wholistic education in days to come?
The above questions could be answered through a case study on a Catholic education institute by concretely discussing its previous education policy, the characteristics it has established, and its future development. Being a Catholic tertiary education institute, Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages traditionally has been emphasizing on wholistic education as its mission while training its students with foreign languages ability and with international horizon. In the last forty years the College not only has established a high reputation with its high quality of education, but also its education mission has been supported and appreciated by its alumni. This article aims at studying 1) to what degree does its education mission generate its impacts on the fruit of its education? 2) whether Wenzao's education mission can respond to the challenges coming from the rapidly changing environment in educational field of Taiwan. And can Wenzao with its education in its future development provide a timely remedy to our society?
