[英文摘要] :
[Purpose] To investigate the effect of shoulder positions and speeds in internal and external rotation torque production in college baseball players and age-matched nonplayers. [Subjects] Twenty first-level collegiate baseball players and 19 college students were recruited. [Methods] The dynamometer system was used to evaluate the shoulder rotation strength in seated postures. Three testing positions were at shoulder abduction 45°, 70° and 90° in the scapular plane combined with three testing speeds at 60°/s, 120°/s and 210°/s. [Results] Both the maximum external and internal rotation torque occurred at shoulder abduction 70°. However, only the external rotation torque was affected by the speed, and peak value occurred at 60°/s. The baseball players’ internal rotation torque was greater than that of the control group in all testing conditions; however, this was not the case for external rotation. The ratio of external to internal rotation torque changed with the testing positions and speeds in both groups. The ratio in the control group was greater than in the baseball players group. [Conclusion] The shoulder positions could affect the rotational strength production, and the baseball players could strengthen their external rotators to achieve better performance and injury prevention.
