This paper is a commentary on the research conducted by Warren (2013, 2016) on intertextuality. In Warren (2013), the
concept of intertextuality was illustrated with examples taken from professional emails. From a practitioner’s point of view, I
found that Warren (2016), which provides additional information that can be applied to teaching, should be viewed together
with Warren (2013).
