[英文摘要] :
There has been emerging discussion for the expectation of social entrepreneurship to act as a catalyst in rural communities’ development and identity. The emergence of social entrepreneurship in different societal sectors reflects a pressing need of social justice when challenging the unbridled capitalism (Meyer & Kirby, 2012). Such expectation has far outstripped the empirical evidence. This research intends to construct comparative studies on two community development associations and their strategies to create social capital through social entrepreneurship with different societal sectors. Located in a rural region, Dragon Eye Community and Jingliao Community face challenges of emigration and economic recession due to the global competition. The research intends to reveal how communities build bridging and bonding social capital and how community development association play as perfect agent to facilitate the resources bricolage and optimizing social capital. The comparative case study indicates various approaches of two community development associations. Through the comparison of two associations, it presents the contextual finding to sustain community development from Taiwanese point of view. Therefore, this research intends to discover how social entrepreneurship fosters social integration through cross-sectoral collaborations as an emic approach to examine social capital creation process.
