[摘要] :
在跨文化語境下,口譯員常常必須要在擔任口譯員的同時,扮演文化協調員的角色。口譯研究也不斷強調口譯員必須具備一定的文化素養。但口譯培訓相關研究卻較少探討何謂口譯員必要之文化素養,也較少討論口譯教師如何培育學生的文化素養。本研究透過深度訪談,希望了解口譯教師如何在設計課程內容時,增加學生的文化素養。希望透過本研究的結果,協助其他教師了解如何在課程中納入文化素養相關內容,幫助學生口譯員增加文化素養,使其得以在就業後,更成功地擔任文化協調員的角色。

The role of an interpreter as a cultural mediator in cross-cultural communication settings has been widely discussed in the literature. Literature on interpreter training has also emphasized the importance of interpreters’ cultural competence. However, literature on interpreter training has rarely discussed what interpreter trainers have done specifically to raise students’ cultural awareness. This study aims to explore interpreter trainers’ effort to raise students’ cultural awareness by interviewing interpreter trainers. By understanding interpreter trainers’ views about interpreter’s role as a cultural mediator, this study is expected to have new insights on how cultural issues can be integrated into courses or curriculum to enhance students’ cultural awareness.
