摘 要
文藻外語大學的教育使命宣言(其中一段)→希望透過外語教育,以中華文化為基礎,提供學子對多元文化之瞭解,開拓國際宏觀…。太極是中華思想史上的重要概念,主要承襲自三易之中的[周易],因此[易經]通常泛指[周易],且現在學者大多認為[易經]應是集體創作結果,[周易]並非任何一個人物的著作,而是西周時期占筮用的文字編纂。有學者認為[十翼]之[繫辭傳]應是孔子的[易經]讀後感,其概念即是中國傳統哲學的(二分法 + 二進位)觀念→相互對立又依存、既相反又相關的事物。因此萬物變化可由太極→兩儀→四象→八卦→…等二進位觀念來加以描述。太極的概念已融入中華傳統文化,包括曆法,天文,氣象,中醫,武術,書法,建築,宗教,風水,占卜等各種傳統事物當中。太極概念可用一種簡單的幾何形狀表示(太極圖),不只中華傳統文化,這一類符號出現在許多的古文明中。早在公元前五世紀之凱爾特藝術中,及後來的羅馬帝國軍服上徽章都有類似的太極圖圖案。近代丹麥科學家波耳設計了自己的紋章,就以太極圖為主,並附有格言「對立即互補」。現代的電腦語言,簡單說就是用「0」與「1」來表達一切,這都是(二分法 + 二進位)觀念→20、21、22、23、24、…的呈現。文藻化學課從宇宙形成之大爆炸談起 (E=mC2→能量與質量 + 暗能量與暗物質)→物質分類(純物質及混合物)→物質的化學性質及物理性質→水的體積變化(攝氏4℃時密度最大→單獨水分子及氫鍵形成之分子團)→化學反應(離子鍵及共價鍵)→生態之概念(非生物環境與生物環境)→人類隨時代演進之觀念演化→氣候冷、熱及乾、濕變化(冰期與間冰期)→SWOT分析之運用→自律及他律概念→我的教育理念→論中庸之道的意涵…等概念,均可用太極圖之(二分法 + 二進位)觀念呈現。

Abstract
One of major education mission statement in Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages is that, with Chinese language and culture as the foundation, the University seeks through foreign language education to provide an understanding of multi-culturalism and an international perspective. The symbol and idea of Tai Chi are one of important traditional Chinese Culture (Dichotomy + Binary). According to studies, Tai Chi idea may come from the Yi Jing, an ancient Chinese divination text in Western Zhou period (1000–750 BC), and are providing inspiration to the Chinese Culture of religion, philosophy, literature, art, architecture, Chinese Medicine and martial arts etc. The symbol of Tai Chi was not only found in ancient China, the other ancient civilizations of Europe were also discovered similar symbol, for example the Celtic art and the badge on army clothes of ancient Roman Empire. Modern times, Bohr (Danish physicist) designed his own coat of arms using the symbol of yin and yang and a motto (in Latin) meaning: opposites are complementary. The binary system used by modern computers and computer-based devices also the similar idea of Tai Chi (Dichotomy + Binary). In chemistry class, we use the symbol and idea of Tai Chi to present and understand the theory of Big Bang (E=mC2), classification of matter, material properties, chemical reactions, volume change of water, ecosystem, human idea change, climate change, SWOT analysis, my education idea, and discussion of The Golden Mean.
