[摘要] :
We argued that strategic frames are critical source of attention that channels strategy formulations. This study incorporated Managerial and Organizational Cognitive perspective into The Behavioral Theory of the Firm and suggested managerial cognition as boundary condition of performance feedback model. The cognition perspective is used to complement problemistic and slack search in examining how CEO’s strategic frames affect strategic decision when firms experience poor performance. In the context of high-tech industry and longitudinal data throughout East Financial Crisis (1997) to World Economic Crisis (2008), panel tests on data from firms in Taiwan support our hypotheses overall. Strategic frames of CEOs are important in understanding firm’s search behavior and adaptation strategies in time of economic adversity. Theoretical implications and future research directions are discussed.
