[英文摘要] :
Appropriate autonomy delegation within an MNC is a critical issue. While traditional international business studies considered that parent firms have absolute power, I argue that subsidiaries should be granted appropriate levels of decision-making power because parent firms rely on subsidiaries’ local knowledge to effectively respond to environmental contingencies. I use empirical studies to explore the determinants of subsidiary autonomy and offer guidance to help headquarters’ executives in determining the appropriate levels of subsidiary autonomy.
