Autobiography

Personality
I consider myself as an ambitious girl and I would try hard to realize my goal, but deep in my bones I am a laidback girl. When I was just a little kid, my mom had trained me to be an independent girl. I still remember that there was one time in the age of five or six, my mom purposely didn't wake me up and as a result I overslept and was late for the school bus. The president of the kindergarden asked me to stand in the corner for a time out as punishment that I had wasted everyone's time waiting for me. From that time on, I set the clock for myself and got dressed for the school bus to come pick me up and I would no longer needed to ask mom to wake me up because this lesson was really a big one to learn. I thank my mom for her parenting philosophy that she's willing to let me make mistakes and learn from the experience. I learn that no matter what I do, I have to take the responsibility for myself and not relying on my parents to take care of me at a very young age.

Basic Information
I was born and raised in Mituo, a rural coastal district of Kaohsiung City, where its people mainly live and make a living by its rich natural resources of agriculture and aquafarming. Being raised up in such a place of vibrancy and of energy, I am so into the living style here. Compared with the hustle and bustle of big cities, living in a simple, small town makes me like a fish in the water, I can always feel relaxed, free from the intensified modern life, in a sense, a home. I went to study at the nearby junior high school where you can find a way of learning without much pressure and students can absorb whatever they are interested in as much as possible. I was a lucky girl that I met four really good English teacher at junior high school age who helped me build up a solid base of English.

Education
Time passed so fast. It has almost been 6 years since I first got into Wenzao. I appreciate every chance to get on the podium to present myself that I learn to deal with my worst enemy -conquer my nerve that I can confidently and logically deliver my thoughts without trembling and hesitation. What is more, Wenzao offers me the best platform to try various variety of extracurricular activities beside from the ordinary school schedule. For me, it's not that working hard is not important but what matters to me is that only working hard is far away not enough to fulfil the purpose of life, it should be working hard and playing even harder to explore this world that you are only to life once. I can never image that one day I can spend one day long in the swimming pool casually swimming like a real fish in the water, nor can I think of one day I can put on my backpack to get into the high mountain for a week with other college students from different campuses that were all because I was willing to try new things and not set the boundary to myself.

Future
After graduating from five-year-junior college, I received the full scholarship to study at the Two- Year college of Department of Translation and Interpreting at Wenzao. It's coming to be the second semester to be an T&I student and I quite get used to this sort of studying atmosphere where I enjoy the in-class practices our lecturers given to us. It would be really satisfactory to achieve the goal and see myself making progress day after day that being an competent interpreter seems to be so realizable to me. However, to be a qualified interpreter requires more than in-class practices. When I saw this semester-based internship recruitment at the University of Texas at San Antonio, it caused a ripple of sweet memory to me the summer break I spent one month at Castuera, Extremadura, Spain being a cultural volunteer and I know this is the right opportunity for me to make the most use of what I have learned from Wenzao and the one-month long volunteering experience and apply it to the real world as playing a connecter to bridge different cultures together. Therefore, I would like to offer my services to apply for this internship program to tell the world about Taiwan and its beauty from my perspective and, by this means, broaden my horizon.
