2011 世界精神醫學會暨50周年年會暨學術索討會
I found this internship opportunity throughout the information from Wenzao’s English department website. The event was organized by Han-Ken (漢肯) event organizing company and took place in the famous Kaohsiung 85 Building. The event was an annual International seminar for psychiatrist all around the world. Professional psychiatrists from South America, China, United States, Japan, and many other countries came to Kaohsiung to share their research and experiments.
We were assigned to assist on several divisions, such as minute-taker, reception, and logistics. On the first day, my responsibility was to greet and showing directions for the seminar participants.
For the second and third day, I was responsible as the record-taker for several sessions. The best part of this assignment was that I could also listen and learn to the seminars delivered by certified professionals on psychology. Unfortunately, sometimes I found it hard to comprehend the essence of the speech of the seminar due to the usage of medical terms and also the accents of the speakers.
From this opportunity, basically I barely had the chance to apply my English ability since most of the participants are Taiwanese, and all of our work details were explained and done in Chinese for the sake of efficiency. However, I’m glad that I had the experience to involve myself as a part of an event organizing profession, and although it was quite tiring, I found myself having fun!
It made me consider having a career in event organizing .Thank you Han-Ken company for giving us this opportunity
