The tragedy of Hamlet
Scene1
the two guards saw a ghost the other day,
Guard1:I saw the ghost last night,prince.
Horatio:really? I go with you tomorrow night.
Then,they really saw the ghost. It was actually the former king Hamlet. Horatio decided to tell Hamlet about it.
(Horatio and Hamlet)
“ I thought I saw your father last night” said horatio.
“what!? My father?” said hamlet.
“just listen,you’ll be amazed.”
“did you see it?
“ I did.
“ did you speak to it?
“ I did.
“ I wish I had been there! Said hamlet,” I shall come and watch with you tonight. Do not tell anybody about this!”
That night,hamlet saw the ghost, he realized that it was his father.
“I was murdered.” Said the former king.
“terrible, unnatural murder! Listen son, the person who killed me is now wearing my crown.”
“my uncle!”said hamlet.
“yes, he fell in love with my wife,your mother. He found me asleep in the orchard and poured poison into my ears. It entered my blood and killed me. You must avenge it,but do not harm your mother,leave her to god to judge.”
“ I shall do.”
Hamlet decided the best way to avenge is to pretend to be mad in order to spy on his mother and uncle.
(Ophelia and plolnius)
Ophelia was the daughter of Polonius. She and her brother Laertes lived with their father In a castle. She loves hamlet deeply.
“ he loves me father!” said Ophelia.
“he may love you now, but do not forget that he is a prince and will not be allowed to choose his own wife. He is young, you should not trust him. Please don’t talk to him anymore!”said polonius.
Scene2
(hamlet and Ophelia)
Hamlet: (taking hold of ophelia’s arm and wouldn’t let it go. He stars into her eyes and holds her for a long time. Then he shook her and sighed, he seems sad, then he lets go of her and put his head on one shoulder and walked out of the room backwards.)
Ophelia: ( very surprised and wonders what happed to him.
She goes to her father and tells him what happened)
“ father, I think hamlet is mad! He was behaving weirdly!”said Ophelia.
“perhaps he really does love you, we should go and tell the king,”said polonius.
(king ,Rosencrantz and Guildenstern )
“ I’m not sure why he’s mad. I’m sending you two to overwatch him.” Said the king
(R and G bow to the king)
(R , G and Hamlet.)
“the king did not understand why you are acting like this. We need to make you happy again. So we hired some actors to perform a play” said R or G
(演員上台)
“can you play THE MURDER OF GONZAGO?” said hamlet.
(演員點頭 鞠躬)
Scene3
Hamlet:I’ll make actors tell the story of my father’s murder by Claudius . I want to see if he feels guilty.
(所有chapter3有提到看戲的演員上台直到這齣戲結束)
Everyone got together to watch the play, polonius said to Ophelia…..
(Ophelia and polonius)
“read your book, for this will help you look lonely. We often disguise our bad intentions by seeming innocent.”
The word struck Claudius hard but he said nothing. (Claudius 表情凝重)
(Ophelia and hamlet)
Ophelia: ( quickly sits down and pretend to read her book. And she says to hamlet….)
“ you told me you love me,” she said.
“you should not have believed me, all men are liars. Don’t marry a man. All women are liars, too. You cannot believe what they say. It would be much better if there were no marriages!” he said.
(king and polonius)
“ I heard their conversation, I do not think the problem is love. I think I’ll send hamlet to England. He’ll feel better.” said the king.
“maybe we should have Gertrude speak to him, perhaps he’ll tell her the real reason.” Said polonius.
(king 點頭同意)
(戲劇開始)
(A king(I love you) and queen(I love u too) They kissed and hugged each other. Then the king lay down to sleep. The queen left him. Another man came in and poured poison In the king’ ear. The queen returned and found him dead. She began to cry. The poisoner returned and pretended to be the queen’s friend. He bought her some gift(would you marry me?), and then she (yes,I do)agreed to marry him.)
King Claudius: (當他看到這裡時 便站起來離開了 戲也因此結束)
(大家散場)
(polonius and hamlet)
“the king is very angry, and the queen would like to see you as soon as possible.”
Said P.
“please tell the queen I’ll go.” Said H
(兩人退場)
Polonius :king,Hamlet is going to see the Queen.(( He said to the king
“I’ll hide in that room, and then I will be able to tell you what they talk about,I’m sure he will tell her why he is behaving strangely.)
After polonius left, Claudius started to think about the things he did.
Claudius:God wouldn’t forgive me ((跪著&pray))
(hamlet 從背後靠竟他 拿出他的劍想殺國王)
“ if I kill him while he is praying, he will go straight to heaven, I will wait until he is drunk and asleep.”said H
(hamlet 收劍 轉頭走到媽媽的房間 ，這時polonius 已在窗簾後躲著)
“ what’s the matter, mother?”
“you have offended your father.”
“ and you have offended mine.”
“have you forgotten who I am!?”
“not at all, you are your husband’s brother’s wife and my mother. Sit down, I will not let you go until you see what you’re really like.”
(Gertrude 開始喊救命 polonius 也開始喊…. Hamlet 拿出他的劍往窗簾一刺，polonius 尖叫)
“what have you done!” cried queen G
“ I don’t k now, was it the king?”said H
“that was a bloody and evil thing to do!”
“almost as evil as killing a king and marrying his brother.”
“killing a king?”
“ yes, that’s what I said, killing a king!”
( 這時hamlet 發現他殺的不是king 而是 polonius)
“stupid old man!!” cried H
“How could you learn to love Claudius? He is a bad,bad man. He is a murderer!”
“stop! Stop! I cannot hear another word!”
(這時鬼國王出現了 但媽媽看不到他 鬼國王提醒H不能傷害媽媽，要記得最重要的復仇在後面)
(H要假裝在聽和跟鬼國王講話喔!)
“what are you doing! Why are you talking to the air? What are you looking at?”
“at him! At him! Cant you see him? Cant you hear him” H shouted.
“ I cant see or hear anybody.”
“ it’s my father, my father!”
“now I know that you’re mad.”
“ no, mother, I am not mad. Don’t use that as an excuse to hide your bad deeds. Please think about what your doing, and stop it!”
(然後H把POLONIUS 的屍體拖出房間)
After all was settles, hamlet agreed to go to England. Claudius asked the English king to kill hamlet and he sent Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to go with him. To make sure he would not survive.
As this was happening, Fortinbras, the young nephew of the King of Norway, began his march through Denmark on his way to attack the Poles.
Scene4
Because of the sudden death and disappearance of her father and hamlet, Ophelia became mad. When laertes saw his sister behaved like this, he demanded that Claudius tell him how his father died.
“ hamlet killed him, but it is difficult to punish him as he deserves. His mother would be very upset, and he is very famous in Denmark.” Said Claudius.
“ so there would be no revenge?” said laertes.
“ be patient. You will hear more later.” Said C.
However, the king’s plan wasn’t going well. Hamlet found the killing order that king wrote, he replaced it with R and G’s killing order. On the second night, the ship was attacked, the pirates captured hamlet, but everyone else escaped. Hamlet was taken back to Denmark, when the king found out the news, he and Laertes began plotting to kill hamlet.
Ophelia ,in her madness. Made strings of flowers and threw them in a river , she fell in it and started to sing ,slowly ,she drowned .
Before going to Ophelia’s grave. Laertes asked the servent to pour the poison on the sword.
L:Poured the poison on its tip. Remember to take this sword to Hamlet. And add some poison in the cups.
((Hamlet & Horatio出場))
Hamlet : what is the man doing? Who’s grave would that be?
Horatio : we should go ask the gravedigger.
(king, queen, laertes 出場)
Hamlet : oh! Dear lord! It is ophelias!
Q:I had hoped that you would be Hamlet’s wife.(sad)
L:goodye.((upset))走出墳墓
H跟後出來 :forty thousand brothers could not love her as much as I loved her.((cry))
(hamlet 跟 horatio 開始拉扯)
Laertes : that’s it! I’m challenging you to a duel.
Horatio:It is too dangerous!!
Hamlet:No problem.(comfident) I agree that he is good, but I have been practing. He will not beat me.
Hamlet 轉頭跟horatio說: I’m sorry for killing your father .However, that was not me. It is my madness ,my enemy!!!
Horatio: Be careful
((退場))
A Servant brought two swords to Hamlet & Laertes.
When they were already to fight, the queen sit beside the field and drank the poison wine. Of course, she didn’t know there was poison in the wine.
((照著旁白演就好))
((然後Q就昏倒了 C跑過去看他))
Q:It must have poison in the wine!!!
((她就掛了)
(laertes scratched hamlet with the poisoned sword, they both dropped the sword. Afterwards, hamlet had laertes’ sword and he cut him with it.
(laertes 知道他要死了 所以把國王跟他的陰謀告訴了hamlet)
“ I’m sorry. The king and I tried to kill you, this duel is a part of the plan.” Said L.
( Hamlet 聽到知後非常生氣 他就朝claudius 衝過去並用毒刀殺他 但在C死前，H把毒酒灌進他嘴裡 然後衝去找laertes)
“ I’m sorry I did such a terrible thing to you.” Said laertes.
“ don’t say that, I killed your father, I deserve it.”
“it is all is the past now, can forgive each other?” said L.
“ ofcourse, my dear friend.” Said H.
(然後L就斷氣了)
(a messenger arrived)
“ the Norwegian army is about to enter Elsinore.” Said the messenger.
(hamlet 臨死前跟horatio說): make sure the Danish crown goes to Fortinbras.
(然後他就死了)
(散場)
(Fortinbras 出場)
“ I accept to become the new king of Denmark, and hamlet….. I’ll make sure you have a proper respectful funeral.” Said Fortinbras.
