Tainan - Painted Village
"The walls covered in colorful paintings of characters and motifs" that is the first sentence in my mind when I went there. Painted Village also known as Cai Hui Cun (彩繪村), Hujia Village, located in the Shanhua District of southern Taiwan.
This village is really fascinating! You can find a lot of beautiful painting of many kinds of character, anime, and motif. For the example: painting of Doraemon, Totoro, Spongebob, Hello Kitty, Red Riding Hood, and many more. Beside you can enjoy the view, you also can enjoy the fresh air and feel the athmosphere there that calming and relaxing. I suggest you to take a walk in this village! :)
I heard that, there was a history behind this village. Sometime year ago, there were sisters named Li sisters who lived in Hugo Village when they were childhood. There was one time when the Li sisters went back to their childhood place. Fan Ting Li painted outer walls of her grandmother's house to express her gratitude to her 86-year-old grandmother. After that time, the residents of the village also volunteered themselves to paint the wall. And now, that little project gradually spreads throughout the village.
