This paper investigates the sociolinguistic attitudes in Taiwanese Spanish foreign language (SFL) undergraduate students. In particular, explores the instrumental and
integrative orientations, and the changes in each course of undergraduate studies. Questionnaires in a Likert scale were carried out by a representative sample of 160 SFL
students recruited from Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages in Taiwan. The results show a predominance of instrumental orientations and its persistence in all the
academic courses. Finally, several teaching implications derived from the results obtained are shown.
