THBT Taiwan should sign cross-strait agreement on trade in service

First of all, the opposition side keeps talking about the political problem after we sign cross-trait agreement with China. They have to understand a very important thing. The political system between China and Taiwan were different. So, whether we have an agreement with China, the political problem was still exist. Therefore, this is not a reason to convince Taiwanese not to sign with China.
There are two clashes in today’s debate. The first clash is “whether sign cross-strait agreement is to create a win-win situation.” It’s normally speaking that signing an agreement must contain benefits and harms. And you have to consider why China would like to sign this with Taiwan, if they don’t have some benefits for them, they won’t sign it. Although China still don’t admit Taiwan as a country, but you can see that China had offer a lot of preferences for Taiwan. After we sign this, there are advantages for labors, bosses, and the most important is our economy. As our team had said that Taiwan is facing urgency, we don’t have natural resources, so we rely on import and export, the first step is how to help Taiwan. Both sides believe that sovereignty is the most important element for Taiwan to stand on the world. Because nowadays Taiwan is isolated by most of the countries in the world, we only have relationship with small countries. The gap between Taiwan and the world will become more and more. Signing cross-strait agreement with China is the first and the most important step for Taiwan leading to the world.
The second clash is that “whether Tisa is a political or economy policy.” For government side, we think the agreement is just normal, there’s no concern about the politic. The opposition side considers that politic is the main reason why we can’t sign agreement with China. But it’s a totally wrong thinking. Country and country is the extend of people and people. Everyone has different opinions and ideas, but we still have to make friend with others or have agreements. Just like the government side had mention that we don’t need to pay extra duty. The situation that Taiwan have now is that no matter the goods are perfect, we has only a little opportunity to compete with others. We want to increase more chance and create bigger company.
For conclusion, Taiwan need to develop, so signing the cross-strait agreement is the best way for Taiwan right now. Despite there are advantages and disadvantages in this agreement, but our team believes that the benefits is more than harm.
